Abstract Digital technology has unified the world into a global village by
communication. The merits and demerits of digital technology are highly
debatable on issues bordering on academic achievement, gambling, yahoosm,
Bet 9ja and morality of tertiary students. Hence this study investigated these
issues among students in the College of Education Agbor. The study was a
case study involving 100-300 level students in the college, with a population of
3,000. A sample of 300 students represented the entire population. Instrument
used for data collection was digital technology on academic exercises and
moral behaviour questionnaire (DTAEMBQ). Three research questions were
raised and answered using mean (x) and standard deviation (SD). The
findings indicated a high rate of interest in social networking and moral
decadence of student in the college against academic exercises. The paper
therefore recommended among others: that government’s intervention by
creating awareness through conference organizations (local and
international) to address digital technology, content and discount is
imperative.

Abstract Health science as a core curriculum subject for Senior Secondary School Certificate
Examination (SSSCE), has suffered great student enrolment attrition in the secondary
school and more recently, Biology, a related subject has also started experiencing the
same enrolment attrition. This study therefore examined the possible causes of the
student enrolment attrition in these core science subjects in five local government
areas of Delta State. The design adopted for the study was descriptive survey
research design. The population of the study was 6,000 SS1-SS3 students, while the
sample was 600 students. Three research questions were raised to guide the study.
The instruments for data collection were: knowledge level of students on Health
Science (KLSHS), Enrolment figure of Health Science and Biology (EFHSB) and
academic achievement of Health Science and Biology (AHSB). A simple nonparametric statistical percentage was used to answer the research questions. The
findings after analysis indicated that there was actually attrition in enrolment of
students in health science and biology in the secondary schools. The study therefore
recommended that health science and Biology be made compulsory in the schools in
view of their relevance in nation building; and that government should promote
interest in science subject for student by giving grants and scholarship to science
students

Abstract Children thrive successfully in almost all facets of life when they belong to two
parent families. But the reverse is the case in many aspects of life when they
belong to one parent families. Hence the study examined the influence of
single parenting and socio-economic status on academic achievement of
primary school pupils in Warri Local Government Area of Delta State. The
cross-sectional research design was used for the study. A questionnaire on
socio-economic status of parent, QSESP was used to collect primary data,
while test-scores from pupils report cards were collected for secondary data.
The sample of the study was 500 primary school pupils. The mean ( ?) and SD
were used to answer the research questions while the t-test was used to test the
hypothesis. The findings showed conclusively that single parenting has
negative influence on academic achievement of pupils in the primary school.
The study therefore recommended that single parents should seek help from
relatives, NGO, Government and even religious institutions to help cater for
their children instead of involving them in petty businesses that may endanger
their lives.

Abstract The study investigated individualism and smartphone use as predictors of work-home-interference
among married women in Awka City, Anambra State. A total number of two hundred and forty-five
married women served as participant for the study: Their age ranged from 22 to 55 years with
mean age of 43.45 and standard deviation of 8.96. Purposive sampling technique was used to select
the organizations and participants. Three instruments were employed in the study: Three-
Component Individualism Scale, Smart Phone Usage Scale, and The Survey Work-Home
Interference. The study adopted Correlation design and Multiple Linear Regression as appropriate
statistics. The study revealed that individualism dimensions (autonomy and uniqueness) negatively
predicted work home interference, while self-responsibility and smart phone use positively
predicted work home interference among married women in Awka City, Anambra State. The
following recommendation was made that married women should imbibe the spirit of collectivism
in certain matters whether in the home or workplace instead of individualism; this will help in
reducing work home interference.

Abstract Abstract
The study examined the role of interest and social contact on approval of illegal behaviour in Awka metropolis, Anambra State, Nigeria. Two hundred and forty-four youths drawn from Awka metropolis, Anambra state served as participants in the study. They comprised of 126(59.8%) males, and 118(40.2%) females. Their age ranged from 18 to 39 years with a mean of 28.06, and a standard deviation of 6.36. Simple random sampling was used to choose the participants. Three instruments were used: Interest Scale, Social Contact Scale (SCS), and Approval of Illegal Behaviour Scale. The study used factorial design, and Two-Way analysis of variance (ANOVA) as appropriate design and statistics. The result indicated that interest and social contact corrected model accounted for 57.8% variance on approval of illegal behaviour, with (F3, 40) = 56.09, p<.05; R = .578, R2 adjusted = .567. However, interest did not indicate a significant difference on approval of illegal behaviour in Awka metropolis, Anambra State at (F3, 40) = 3.46, p>.05 at 0.2%. Conversely, social contact showed a significant difference on approval of illegal behaviour in Awka metropolis, Anambra State at (F3, 40) = 33.34, p<.05 at 21.3%. There was a significant interaction between interest and social contact on approval of illegal behaviour among youths in Awka metropolis, Anambra State at (F3, 40) = 3.97, p<.05 at 0.3%. This implies that forensic psychologists are expected to engage in public awareness of social contact, and how it can negatively cause approval of illegal behaviour. This will help to educate youths on how to relate socially without approving illegal behaviour.

Abstract Abstract
The study examined the moderating roles of workplace spirituality on work-life balance and
employee engagement among bank employees in Delta State, Nigeria. The participants were 249
bank employees whose ages ranged from 26 and 49 years with a mean age of 33.50 years and a
standard deviation of 3.20. The study adopted a correlation design using moderated regression
statistics to test the hypotheses using two regression model. The result indicated that there were
significant correlations among the variables with the work-life balance having negative but
significant correlations with workplace spirituality and employee engagement. Analysis of the Beta
coefficient showed that work-life balance has a negative significant predictor effect on employee
engagement at ? = -0.72, p < .01 (n = 249) while workplace spirituality had a positive predicting
effect at ? = 0.44, p < .01 (n = 249). It was found that work-life balance significantly predicted
employee engagement, workplace spirituality significantly predicted employee engagement,
workplace spirituality significantly correlated work-life balance and workplace spirituality
significantly moderated the relationship between work-life balance and employee engagement
among bank employees in Delta State, implying that workplace spirituality reduced the negative
effects of work-life balance and improved employee engagement. It is recommended that there is a
need to explore factors which increase or decrease workplace spirituality among employees as this
could help management to establish motivational paradigms which may be catalysts to the
sustenance of workplace spirituality to reap its attendant organizational benefits.

Abstract Abstract
The problem of social alienation in the workplace and the resultant behaviour of employee silence prompted this study. The study examined the predictive roles of workplace spirituality on employee silence and social alienation dimensions among National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members of Northern Nigeria origin working in Delta State of Nigeria. The respondents were 63 Northern NYSC workers in the Southern parts of Nigeria (38 males, 25 females) whose ages ranged from 19 to 30 years with a mean age of 24 and a standard deviation of 1.40. Participants were selected through the convenience sampling method, while the sample was determined using Gpower sampling formulae under 0.6 effect size and .05 alpha for one predictor case. Employee Silence Scale (ESS), Workplace Spirituality Scale (WSS), and Work Alienation Scale (WAS) were instruments used for data collection. Analysis revealed that workplace spirituality negatively and significantly predicted employee silence at ? = -0.29, p < .001 (n =63) and also was significant for all factors of social alienation at ? = -0.47, p < .001 (n =63). Only the meaninglessness dimension was significant at ? = -0.45, p < .004 (n =63), although, both powerlessness and self-estrangement dimensions had negative correlations with workplace spirituality; they did not reach significant proportions. The negative and significant predictive influence recorded indicates inverse impacts which imply that as workplace spirituality increases employee silence and meaninglessness social alienation reduces; and helping to reduce their negative impact on employees in the workplace. It is recommended that organizations promote a spiritual climate to foster and increase goodwill, consideration for others, collaboration and helping behaviour in the organization. These will engender organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.

Abstract Abstract
The Universal Basic Education (UBE) Act of 2004, placed early child care and education
(ECCE) into the mainstream of Education in Nigeria. Since then, several efforts have been
made for the education of children to begin at an earlier age. Parents push their children into
school at a very tender age and place high expectations on them. The children have to live up
to the expectation of their parents and societal demands. With so much pressure on them, they
resort to poor social behavior such as substance use and cheating in examinations. This paper
investigated the influence of early schooling on poor social behavior among adolescent students
in secondary schools in Delta state Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was used for
the study. The population of the study was 14,479 senior secondary school two students. The
sample was 1300 early and typical students. Instrument for data collection was a substance use
inventory questionnaire (SUIQ) and examination malpractice questionnaire (EMQ). These
instruments have Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of 0.77 and 0.67 alpha level. Two
research questions were raised and answered. Data was analyzed using percentages. Findings
from the study indicated a high degree of poor social behavior of early entrants of students to
secondary schooling in substance use abuse and examination malpractice. Based on this, the
study recommended that students should be made to start secondary schooling from the ages
of 11years, 5 years for primary school and 3-5 years for pre-school.

Abstract Abstract
The rapid proliferation of social media has significantly altered the communication landscape, particularly among young adults and adolescents. The study examined the moderating role of body appreciation on the relationship between body esteem and social media usage of Undergraduate students of Dennis Osadebe University Asaba. A total of one hundred and twenty-six (126) undergraduates drawn from Dennis Osadebe University Asaba served as participants for the study. Accidental sampling technique was used in selecting the participants. The participants consisted of 35 (27.8%) male and 91 (72.2%) female students. The participants’ ages range from 19 to 29 years with a mean age of 23.90 and a standard deviation of 3.40. Three instruments were used in the study: Body appreciation Scale, Body Esteem Scale for Adolescents and Adults and The Social Media Use Scale. The study adopted correlational design and Multiple Linear Regressions. The results showed that be-appearance of dimension of body esteem had positive significant prediction on social media usage at (F6, 119) ?= .05, t= .59, p<.01. Be-weight of dimension of body esteem predicted social media usage negatively at (F6, 119) ?= -.21, t= 1.76, p<.01. Be-attribution of dimension of body esteem predicted social media usage at (F6, 119) ?= ?= -.07, t= -.52, p<.01. The moderating results showed that body appreciation negatively moderated interaction between be-appearance of dimension of body esteem and social media usage at (F6, 119) ?= -.01, t= -.13, p<.01. Body appreciation negatively moderated interaction between be-weight of dimension of body esteem and social media usage at (F6, 119) ?= -.04, t= -.30, p<.01. Body appreciation positively moderated interaction between be-attribution of dimension of body esteem and social media usage at (F6, 119) ?= .19, t= -1.49, p<.01. The findings suggest that fostering body appreciation could serve as a protective factor, helping students maintain positive self-concepts despite the challenges posed by social media. These insights have important implications for mental health interventions and educational strategies aimed at improving body image and overall well-being among university students.Hence, the study recommends that social media having positive benefits for undergraduate students should be condemned rather be encouraged by boosting the body appreciation of undergraduate students to produce positive body esteem.

Abstract ABSTRACT
The study examined work-life balance, work alienation dimensions as predictors of work engagement, and the
moderating role of workplace spirituality of bank employees. The problem of having a lower level of work-life
balance and feelings of work alienation dimensions have left bank employees with lower levels of work
engagement. Workplace spirituality was introduced to strengthen the work-life balance to boost the work
engagement of bank employees. Workplace spirituality was also introduced to weaken the alienation feelings of
bank employees as an attempt to boost their work engagement. The participants were 443 bank employees
drawn from 34 commercial banks located in the three commercial cities of Asaba, Sapele and Warri. The ages
of participants ranged from 25-42 years, mean age of 31.72 and a standard deviation of 5.40. The participant’s
ranks were Assistant Banking Officers, Banking Officers, Senior Banking Officers and Assistant Managers.
Only professional bank employees participated in the study and the educational qualifications of the
participants were Ph.D., M.Sc. and B.Sc. The study adopted a cross-sectional correlational design using
Pearson r moment correlation and hierarchical linear regression analysis to test the hypotheses managed by
SPSS version 23. Analysis of the beta coefficient showed that Work-life balance predicted work engagement at,
?= .25, p<.01, therefore the first hypothesis was accepted. The Powerlessness dimension of work alienation
predicted employee engagement at ?= .18, p<.01, and the meaninglessness dimension of work alienation on
employee work engagement behaviour at, ?= -.22, p<.01. In contrast, the self-estrangement dimension of work
alienation predicted work engagement at, ?= .14, p<.01, therefore the second hypothesis and its subdimensions
were also accepted. The moderation result revealed that workplace spirituality did not moderate
the relationship between work-life balance and work engagement at, ?= -.01, p>.01. The third hypothesis was
thus rejected. Workplace spirituality did not moderate the relationship between the work alienation dimensions
and work engagement at, ?= .01, p>.01, therefore the fourth hypothesis and its sub-dimensions were rejected.
The findings imply that the presence of work-life balance will increase the work engagement of bank
employees therefore, the higher the work-life balance, the higher the work engagement of bank employees.
Also, work alienation dimensions will hinder the work engagement of bank employees in Delta State, therefore,
the higher the work alienation dimensions the lower the work engagement of bank employees. It is
recommended that the banking sector creates policies targeted at strengthening the work-life balance of bank
employees and policies that reduce the presence of work alienation dimensions of powerlessness,
meaninglessness and self-estrangement in driving up the work engagement behaviour of bank employees. The
findings of this study have revealed an intriguing relationship between work-life balance, work alienation
dimensions and work engagement of bank employees in Delta State, in that when work-life balance increases,
work engagement increases and when the powerlessness, meaninglessness and self-estrangement dimensions
of alienation increase work engagement decreases and vice-versa. Understanding this relationship will guide
the policies governing the organisational culture of banks in Delta State in implementing and enforcing
policies geared towards a balanced work-life and significantly reduced feelings of powerlessness,
meaninglessness and self-estrangement dimensions of alienation.

Abstract Abstract
This study examines the role of workplace spirituality in mitigating work alienation and
enhancing work engagement among bank employees in Delta State, Nigeria. In the
context of Nigeria's evolving banking sector, where reforms and competitive pressures
demand high levels of employee engagement, alienation poses a significant barrier to
optimal work performance. The research investigates how the dimensions of work
alienation—powerlessness, meaninglessness, and self-estrangement—affect employee
engagement and how workplace spirituality can serve as a moderating factor in reducing
these negative effects. By integrating workplace spirituality into the organisational
culture, banks may foster a more supportive environment that enhances employees' sense
of belonging, purpose, and connection to their work. Data were collected from bank
employees using structured questionnaires that measured levels of work engagement,
work alienation, and workplace spirituality. Findings indicate that workplace spirituality
significantly moderates the negative impact of work alienation, suggesting that spiritual
practices in the workplace can play a crucial role in improving employee well-being,
engagement, and overall organisational productivity.

Abstract Abstract
This study investigates the influence of work-life balance on the physical health outcomes of
university academics at the University of Delta, Agbor. Work-life balance has become an
increasingly important factor in ensuring the physical and mental well-being of individuals,
particularly in high-stress professions like academia. The study employed the Work-Life Balance
Scale (WLBS) and the Physical Health Questionnaire (PHQ) to examine how aspects of work-life
balance correlate with specific physical health outcomes, such as sleep disturbances, headaches,
gastrointestinal problems, and respiratory infections. The findings reveal that poor work-life
balance is significantly correlated with increased occurrences of sleep disturbances and
headaches. No significant relationship was found between work-life balance and gastrointestinal
or respiratory problems. These findings underline the importance of creating supportive work
environments that help academics achieve better work-life balance, thereby improving their
physical health outcomes.
